Goodbye Daniel Sturridge

A move that seems to have been on the cards for a long while has finally taken place today. Daniel Sturridge has left Chelsea FC and moved to Liverpool for a fee of reportedly £12m.

I have mixed feelings about this move. I always liked Daniel Sturridge and when given a decent run in the team has always done well and scored goals, but he has very rarely been given a chance and since AVB left the club it seems that Sturridge has had one foot out of the door.

It always seemed a little strange that we would persist so much with a player failing to perform and struggling for goals big time and not give an opportunity to a young player who although was pretty selfish on the pitch was full of energy and made things happen for himself. Many people cite his attitude as being a problem, but i would take a selfish Sturridge over the disinterested Torres we have seen on a number of occasions.

But such is life at Chelsea and we have seen another young English talent moved on without being afforded a fair crack.

Since he has moved to Liverpool i will find it hard to wish him well, but i have no doubt that he will end up somewhere if it isn't Liverpool and make himself a very good player.
