Weekly Academy Highlights

This weeks games at academy level were played away from home to Liverpool. First up was the U18's who managed to continue their excellent unbeaten record with a 2 - 1 win. Both goals scored by Alex Kiwomya and very well taken goals they were too. Here are the highlights for that game.

On Sunday it was the turn of the U21's. Things did not go well for them for the majority of the game. The passing was poor and we never got a hold of the game in any way and Liverpool took advantage of that and took a 3 goal lead. At half time Drummy brought on Jeremie Boga who turned things around for Chelsea with 1 outstanding solo effort and a brilliant piece of skill for the second following some good interplay. Things were brought level when Patrick Bamford rounded the Liverpool keeper and was brought down for a penalty, Lewis Baker putting the kick away. The U21's will be looking for much better overall performances and with Clifford, Kane and Bamford out on loan there will be chances for younger players to come in and make an impact.
